keralifi

The today’s post is written by my friend Gabriela. She has a real passion for home made cosmetics and for my blog she wanted to give me the recipe for Keralifi, a fantastic cream for the skin. Here is what she wrote …

Before letting you know, about Keralifi, let me tell you how I got in to know it. I’ve being living in Greece for a while and how you’ll imagine I’ve been living and enjoying the magic and the gifts of these ancestral place being amazed by its magical beauty and unique landscapes that only being nourish from the Mediterranean Sea can be possible. So being affected by this amazing place as it is Greece, I got to know one of the most lovely people in this world “Greek people” and all their culture. Chatting one day with a good friend of mine, she told me a story of how her grandmother 20 years ago, made one fantastic cream called “Keralifi” that actually helped her to reproduce again the skin of one part of her foot skin that many surgeons at that time told her, it would never be recovered and fixed again, but actually putting the cream every single day she was able to recover her skin. From that she also let me knew that Keralifi is an amazing face cream as well. You have to put it on your face before going to bed; it will actually improve the skin if you have scars, dry skin, wrinkles or if you just got burn.
Talking a little more about my own experience with this cream I got very impressed about the result. My skin face at my 24 years old was a little damage by the sun, make up and some small scars and now that I apply it mostly every day, (you can apply it only 2 times a week if you consider that you skin face type is oily) I can say that my skin recovered his natural glow, looks more healthy and since I use Keralifi i don’t have the need to apply make up on my face, not even if I have to go out at night.
Also I got very impressed by the experience of one male friend of mine, he had very dry hands and all the products he tried they simply didn’t work. His hands skin was like crocodile skin. I prepared Keralifi for him and in 1 month the results were shocking!!! the scars he had and the open skin with blood were gone, no more crocodile skin, and he told me he just applied it one time a week, he told me he had try some moisturizing creams before in the past but nothing of what he used was able to solve the problem so efficiently… 🙂 I was so happy!!!

So Keralifi is made only with 2 magical ingredients, 3 if you want to add honey (that I highly recommend by experience) they are:

Beeswax
Olive Oil
Honey

Beeswax
Beeswax is a colorless liquid secreted by female worker bees as they build the honeycomb walls.
Beeswax locks in moisture, fosters cells and protects skin from damaging environmental factors. Honeygirlorganics.com reports beeswax effectively “softens your skin and creates a long-lasting protective coating against the elements. It also is a naturally nourishing moisturizer as well as being anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-allergenic and a germicidal antioxidant.” According to Botanical.com, “Even after processing, beeswax still remains a biologically active product, retaining some anti-bacterial properties and also contains some vitamin A, which is necessary for normal cell development.
Because of the healing, softening and antiseptic properties associated with beeswax, numerous skin care lines incorporate it. According to the FAO, “Even small quantities show effects of improvement….
Beeswax is very frequently used in the following cosmetic classes: cleansing creams, cold creams and lotions, emollient and barrier creams, depilatories, lipsticks-protective sticks in general, nail creams, sun protection products, eye and face make up, and foundation creams”.

Olive Oil
Since ancient times Olive Oil, has been one of the most greatest products ever… used as food, medicine and beauty. So if you have extra-Virgin Oil for cooking, now is time you should consider to use it as a beauty cosmetic not only in you face, also in all your body, and here there is why…
Anti-inflammatory Properties
There are a variety of antioxidants in olive oil including Vitamin A and E but the most potent compound is hydroxytyrosol. Hydroxytyrosol is a very rare but potent antioxidant found in olive oil that prevents free radical damage on skin cells. This compound also absorbs deeply into the skin and is suitable for all skin types. For this reason, olive oil has very potent anti-inflammatory properties and used in a variety of products.
Anti-aging and anti-wrinkle cream due to the high content of antioxidants in olive oil makes it particularly useful.
Moisturizing Properties
As explained earlier, olive oil is abundant in antioxidants. These antioxidants work really well as moisturizers. One of the main reasons why olive oil works really well as a moisturizer is the hydrophilic properties of these antioxidants which allow it to form a protective barrier trapping moisture on your skin. Lots of skin products used various synthetic chemical that do moisturizer but they clog your pores and are carcinogenic in some cases. For this reason, olive oil can be applied on your face. In addition to that, its deep penetrating properties not only moisturize your skin but also help brighten your skin.
Final Words
So there you go, three very important uses of olive oil on your skin. Olive oil is very gentle and non-irritating even on the most sensitive of skin. Just remember to stay away from cheap shoddy products that imitate olive oil products as olive oil is very easy to fake.

Honey
Honey’s kind of magic.. It has an unending supply of antioxidants and vitamins, and beautifully enough, it’s fat-cholesterol- and sodium-free. It has ALL the properties needed to keep life … living, and it’s the only substance in the world that is so all-encompassing.
Honey is ultra moisturizing. Skin care companies are on to something when they add honey to their products. But you don’t need the extra chemicals and junk that go along with store-bought facial products. You can get the moisturizing (and whole) benefits of honey just by using it on your face, pure and as nature intended. The humectant properties of honey are out of this world, and they draw the moisture into your skin like nobody’s business. Combine that with honey’s antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, and you’ve got the most soft, clean, and crunchy skin ever.
Honey is a super-powered acne fighter. Yes, honey’s antimicrobial power translates into clean, clear skin for people of all ages – even the skin-finicky teenage years. Slather on the honey and it will gnaw away at all the yuckies that cause pimples. With regular use, your skin will be supermodel clear.
Honey zaps away free radicals that can cause aging. If you’re not convinced yet, maybe this will do it for you: We can probably agree that, historically, Cleopatra was one of the most timeless beauties on record. What was her secret? Milk and honey baths. There’s no doubt that her use of honey contributed to her wrinkle-free gorgeousness. That’s because honey contains myriad antioxidants that neutralize the free radicals that are responsible for signs of aging. Start early, use honey regularly, and you’ll still be crunchy when you’re 110.

I would like to add something for all the women and young girls out there that haven’t found a reason Why? They should take care of their skin or skin face… and it is very simple. Like Coco Channel very wisly said one day.

“Nature gives you the face you have at 20.
Life shapes the face you have at 30.
But at 50 you get the face you deserve”
.
Coco Chanel

Having everything ready you should have a least 120 grams of Keralifi or more (it depends how much honey you had put). Pure your Keralifi cream in a glass recipient and wait from 30 minutes, and it’s ready!!!
