weekend in the mountains

Survived the revelry of the holiday season, many of you will certainly plan to spend a weekend in the mountains before the winter comes to an end. Among the beautiful places that abound in our Peninsula I would like to tell you about Bormio, an ideal place to spend a wonderful holiday full of sports and wellness. Yes because in Bormio, skiing and wellness are just the master.
15 ski lifts with an hourly capacity to transport 24,000 persons, 50 km of ski slopes (including the famous Stelvio slope, and a vertical drop of 1,800 meters), a snowmaking system present on the 80% of the ski area, the annual downhill World Cup, an innovative snowpark and a freeride area make of this mountain town, a must for all the winter sports lovers, able to satisfy the most demanding skiers with challenging and equipped slopes for the ski racing, both the less experienced skiers with slopes of medium difficulty and ski schools for beginners.
But the real attraction, at least for me, is the possibility to ski at night: from January, in fact, every Thursday from 20.00 to 23.00, you can have the chance to ski on the Stelvio slope by night, before ending the evening in one of the “après ski “, places where you can dance, socialize and have a few drinks still in ski suit and boots. So funny!
But let’s talk about the wellness chapter: as many of you already know as well as for skiing, Bormio is famous for its thermal baths mentioned since the time of the ancient Romans. The spas are three: Bormio Terme, a modern spa in the center of the town, The Bagni Nuovi, a spa located in the Art Nouveau style Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi inaugurated in 1836, and, finally, the Bagni Vecchi, an ancient spa already known in Roman times. In short, a real temple for the care of the body and soul … And to get to the slopes of BormioSki and to the prestigious spas is available a single card, the Bormio Pass, convenient, easy to use and above all at a competitive price, on sale at many hotel structures.
