Borse artigianali. Sapete quanto mi piace parlare di quei progetti dove aziende di moda conosciute si adoperano per migliorare le condizioni di vita delle persone più sfortunate (vi ricordate dei progetti di Renè Furterer e Davidoff Cool Water?). È il caso dell’iniziativa nata dalla collaborazione tra Mercado Global e Comptoir des Cotonniers. L’associazione Mercado Global conta più di 300 artigiane nelle 30 cooperative distribuite tra le montagne occidentali del Guatemala. Nella speranza di contrastare la povertà, l’associazione cerca di mettere queste donne in connessione con il mercato internazionale, proponendo loro dei business coaching, affinché possano procurarsi le risorse sufficienti per loro stesse e per le loro famiglie, acquisendo fiducia attraverso il lavoro.
La collaborazione con Comptoir des Cotonniers ha mobilizzato 121 artigiane in 21 comunità situate nei dipartimenti di Sololà, Chimaltenango e Totonicapán. Un lavoro artigianale lungo e meticoloso che ha portato alla fabbricazione di una collezione di borse artigianali unica e speciale, realizzata con il cuore e che combina stile maya e parigino. You know how much I like to talk about the projects in which famous fashion companies are working to improve the living conditions of the less lucky people (do you remember the projects by Renè Furterer and Davidoff Cool Water?). Actually I’m talking about the collaboration born between Mercado Global and Comptoir des Cotonniers. The association Mercado Global has more than 300 women artisans in 30 cooperatives spread across the western mountains of Guatemala. Hoping to combat poverty, the association tries to put these women in connection with the international market, offering them some coaching business, so that they can obtain sufficient resources for themselves and for their families, gaining confidence through work.
The collaboration with Comptoir des Cotonniers has mobilized 121 artisans in 21 communities located in the departments of Solola, Chimaltenango and Totonicapán. A long and meticulous craftsmanship that has led to the manufacture of a unique and special collection, made with heart and that combines Mayan and Parisian style.
